Description: the Market Research Associate is a key team member, working with the head of financial products, IPNav technical analysts and with IPNav portfolio managers to provide key insights used for portfolio selection, valuation, and forecasting. The Associate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our market research workflow, managing technical analysts and performing sophisticated analysis that guides investment decision making. IPNav is a fast-paced organization and the Associate will need to be self-directed, motivated, and capable of managing and prioritizing multiple work streams and deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Create reports on key market segments to guide investment screening
• Perform market research to estimate product sales in a variety of industries
• Perform research on royalty rates in relevant industries
• Maintain and contribute to valuation and analytical models used in the investment process
• Maintain and develop IPNav knowledge resource network
• Contribute to IPNav financial forecasting
• Support decision-making by IPNav senior executives
• Present work in internal and client-facing contexts

Qualifications:

• Either:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in finance, accounting, or economics and at least one relevant internship
  • Bachelor’s degree in another concentration plus at least 1 year of relevant work experience or at least two relevant internships
• Experience with Intellectual property desired
• VBA and advanced MS Excel skills desired
